The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and Dr. Karen Horton Raise Money For Breast Reconstruction
San Francisco BRA Committee Chair Dr. Karen Horton recently appeared as a guest on KRON 4 News to provide details about this year’s Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) virtual event. Along with Honorary Co-Chairs Mayor London Breed and Fire Chief Jeanine Nicholson, Dr. Horton is looking to raise awareness and funds on behalf of PSF to benefit patients in California who are to undergo breast reconstruction.
Participants can enjoy the benefit at any time between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31, 2021. Pre-recorded videos feature a patient-only fashion show, a silent auction featuring a luxury shopping experience, and a grand prize drawing! Upon registering, you’ll also be able to view a personal welcome video from Dr. Horton. You don’t need to commit financially when registering, but it will ensure you receive program updates as they are available.

Participate in the 2021 Virtual ‘Close the Loop’ 5k!
In 2021, an estimated 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 49,290 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. The disease threatens a woman’s life and impacts her sense of self and femininity when her breasts are disfigured or removed to stop the spread of cancer. Breast reconstruction can be an essential element of the healing process. You can support women in need by registering now for the Close The Loop 5K, set for Oct. 31 in Atlanta, GA. If you can’t participate in the 5K in person, you can always donate to the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign as a virtual participant.
