Before and after gynecomastia correction surgery in a 29 year old man who had previously weighed 320 pounds more and underwent gastric bypass, with massive weight loss. His weight had been stable for over 2 years before this procedure.
He had severe gynecomastia with excess skin and drooping of the nipples and areolas in addition to excess fat and breast tissue. In this case, ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) would not suffice as the only procedure. An excision of a wedge of breast tissue and fat via a long incision in the breast fold to tighten his chest contour was required in addition to ultrasonic liposuction to debulk his chest.
The nipples were removed as free nipple-areola grafts and replaced to a higher position on the chest that restored a masculine chest appearance.
Follow up photos are shown at 6 months after surgery. His scars are maturing and much of the edema (swelling) has resolved, however his final results will not be evident for at least another 6 months. He is much more comfortable in his skin and is thrilled with his early results.
