Before and after liposuction of the neck in a 54 year old man. He was in good physical shape but had persistent excess fat in his neck and chin regions, just like all the other members of his family. He wanted to still look like himself but improve his jawline region without major surgery (such as a full neck lift).
Liposuction of the neck was performed in the operating room as a brief outpatient surgery. Over 2 full cups of fat were removed by two small (3 mm) incisions hidden in his jawline. Postoperatively, we wore a chin strap for two weeks to encourage contraction of his neck skin to its new form. His results were evident at one month after his liposuction procedure.
Follow up photos are shown at over 2 years after surgery. Results are permanent and he is much more comfortable in his skin, no longer growing his beard to cover his entire neck.
