Liposuction of small areas such as the neck can often be performed in the office under local anesthesia, with patients awake. This avoids nausea which is common with general anesthesia, and patients tend to feel greater control over their situation since they are participating under some mild oral sedation.
Liposuction of her neck and below her chin removed a full cup and a half of fat, with dramatic results. Follow up photos are shown at one month after liposuction surgery. She loves her new neckline and no longer gravitates immediately to this area when she is taking selfies or looking at group photos!
