Before and after bilateral earlobe repair and repiercing in a 32-year-old woman. She was planning a lavish Indian wedding and planned to wear heavy, ornate earring for at least four days straight. Her past piercings had already stretched, and she was unable to wear her chosen earrings.
Lobule repair and repiercing slightly higher and just to the side of the former hole was performed under local anesthesia. While we recommend avoiding wearing heavy earrings after this procedure, cultural customs are important, and were the reason for this patient planning surgery.
With full informed consent that wearing dangling, weighted jewelry will likely result in her piercings to once again stretch out down the road, this patient opted to have surgery before her wedding and to avoid wearing heavy earrings after that event – saving them for future special occasions only.
Follow up photos are shown 2 months after surgery. She is ready for her bridal shower!
