Before and after excision of an earlobe repair and local flap reconstruction in a 55 year old man. He had failed conservative treatment of this keloid (scar therapy and steroid injections), and it was continuing to grow, with symptoms of itching and pain.
The keloid tumor was excised in the operating room. The defect was repaired by local flap tissue rearrangement to restore a normal appearance to his earlobe. Follow up images are shown at 6 months after surgery. He did not require radiatin treatments and his scar is continuing to mature well.
