Before and after breast augmentation in a 34 year old woman. She had not had children yet and was very physically active. She did not want to risk not being able to breastfeed in the future and wanted to continue lifting the same weights after recovery from surgery.
Placement of smooth round silicone gel implants in the subglandular position increased her breast volume and maintained a natural result. The incision in the fold of the breast protected the important connections between the milk glands/ducts and the nipple, preserving breastfeeding potential, and avoidance of muscle disruption by placing the implants on top of the muscle maintained her muscle function and strength.
She resumed exercise at 3 weeks after surgery and her sensation has nearly returned fully. She is now 3 months postoperative and feels like the implants are “just part of my body”.
