Before and after post-weight loss body contouring in a 34-year-old woman who had lost over 150 pounds following a sleeve gastrectomy. Her breasts were completely deflated and hung literally to her umbilicus (belly button and her waist band!). This is called Grade III ptosis (on a scale of one to three).
She wanted to have the fullness back in her breasts – and to see her nipples again! A breast augmentation provided restoration of volume and a round shape to her breasts. Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position.
A breast lift elevated her nipples, reduced her areola diameter and removed excess skin from her breasts. A brachioplasty (upper arm lift) was done at the same surgery.
Follow up photos are shown just one month after surgery. Because her implants were not under the muscle, she used only Tylenol for pain postoperatively and she experienced very little swelling. She has been given permission to exercise without restrictions now.
Her transformation is obvious! She is planning on having additional children and is relieved to know that she will regain her erogenous sensation to the nipples, and most likely be able to breast feed going forward.
