Before and after abdominoplasty and liposuction of the abdomen and flanks as part of a Mommy Makeover in a 40-year-old woman. Her flat abdomen and toned abdominal muscles had always been her best feature before having children. She also had developed a belly button “outie” appearance due to significant rectus diastasis.
A tummy tuck removed a small amount of lower abdominal skin, and repaired her rectus abdominis muscles back together in the midline, which corrected her belly button appearance as well. When correction of the belly button alone is performed, it is called an umbilicoplasty.
Liposuction removed excess fat from her upper and lower abdomen, anterior flanks, pubic region, and upper inner thighs to complete the procedure. Follow up photos are shown 18 months after surgery.
