Before and after liposuction of the abdomen and lower abdominal scar revision in a 50-year-old woman. She had some rectus diastasis after pregnancies, but she was not interested in having a full tummy tuck. Her goal was to remove her annoying stubborn post-pregnancy fat and to lessen the “shelf” of skin and fat that sat on top of her C-section scar.

Liposuction permanently removed 850 cc of fat through five tiny incisions (which is more than a bottle of wine – full of fat!). Her C-section scar was surgically excised and resutured in three layers, just like a three-layered cake – with each layer repaired to its corresponding partner on the other side. This corrects the indentation that is common in scars from abdominal surgery.

Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She still has some lumpy areas of surgical swelling but can already appreciate her results and is satisfied with her decision not to have a full abdominoplasty with its associated downtime.
