Before and after post-weight loss mastopexy with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 67-year-old woman. After losing over two hundred pounds following invasive weight loss surgery and recovering a brachioplasty, she wanted to improve the appearance of her breasts. She felt strongly that she did not want implants and wished to look “age appropriate.”
An “auto-augmentation” breast lift reshaped her breasts and removed excess skin, keeping a proportional amount of breast tissue to balance the rest of her curves. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls. The last set image shows an intraoperative view of her auto-augmentation mastopexy on the operating room table after one breast is treated for comparison.
Follow up photos are shown 2 years after surgery. Since implants were not inserted, she has a natural looking upper pole slope and a teardrop shape to her breasts. Her scars are nearly mature, her breasts have settled, and she is very pleased with her results. She is next planning an abdominoplasty followed by a medial thigh lift to complete her post-weight loss body contouring.
