Before and after left breast tubular breast correction via a unilateral (single-sided) breast augmentation in a 17-year-old woman. A tubular breast has a constricted breast footprint, a relatively high breast fold, and “pseudoptosis,” where the nipple is close to the lower pole of the breast. This patient was bothered by her congenital breast asymmetry and wanted improved symmetry to her breasts.
She felt very strongly that she only wanted to modify her slightly smaller, more tubular left breast – so that is what we focused on. A small-sized smooth, round, low profile silicone gel breast implant was placed on top of the muscle in the subglandular position on the left side only. The implant helped to round out the lower pole of the breast and create a rounder breast shape.
Long term follow up photos are shown 7 years after surgery, with greatly improved symmetry even years later, and a happy patient! With time, her breasts may continue to change – she will follow up with us every ten years going forward, but is pleased to know that she can keep her breast implant in place as long as she wants and needs!
