Before and after bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies and immediate prepectoral breast implant reconstruction with immediate breast lift in a 34-year-old woman with breast cancer.

A combined double mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction procedure was planned.  Her breast tissue was removed through a breast reduction and lift design.  At the same surgery, smooth round postoperatively adjustable implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral position.  They were inflated all the way at the time of her breast cancer removal.

Her nipples and areolas were removed and reapplied as free grafts higher up on the breast mound after closing the skin in a breast lift pattern.  After surgery, she took a full month off work and planned an implant exchange from her adjustable saline implants to full-sized silicone implants six months after her mastectomies for the most natural and soft breast reconstruction results.

Follow up photos are shown 1 year after her original surgery.  She has resumed “life as normal” and is looking forward to seeing us yearly for “social visits” and implant checks.
