Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 42-year-old breast cancer survivor. She previously had a right skin-sparing mastectomy, tissue expander reconstruction and an attempt and nipple reconstruction and medical tattoo. Postoperative chemotherapy preceded an implant exchange on the right side.
She had a mastopexy-augmentation (breast lift with implants) eight years prior to her breast cancer diagnosis. With obvious asymmetry, she was grateful for any improvement we could offer.
Her revision involved bilateral capsulectomy and implant exchange, converting both implants to sit on top of the muscle. The tattooed right breast skin was excised in order to start fresh with a new nipple and areola reconstruction.
Her left nipple was reconstructed using a left-to-right free nipple graft. Medical tattoo created two symmetric areolar circles. A left breast reduction and lift provided improved symmetry to the breasts. Liposuction removed excess fat from her bra rolls and armpit regions.
