Before and after bilateral breast implant revision with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 61-year-old woman. Her 40-year-old breast implants were contracted and malpositioned, sitting too high on her chest, creating a top-heavy appearance, a Snoopy deformity and chronic pain. She wanted to keep implants but have a more natural look and slightly fuller breast.
Surgery involved removal of old ruptured textured silicone gel breast implants. A total capsulectomy removed all surrounding scar tissue was performed in order to completely clean up the pocket. The implant space was reopened, and a more natural location behind the nipple and areola was created.
New smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. Liposuction removed excess fat from her bra rolls and armpit region.
Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She loves her softer, mobile breasts. She is grateful to have relief of her symptoms and to know that her current generation implants are under warranty for twenty years!
