Before and after breast lift and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 24-year-old woman. She had Grade III ptosis (the most severe class of breast droop, where nipples are pointing to the floor). She was not looking to have bigger breasts, just a major lift! The cause of her breast droop was precipitous weight loss, which can cause a post-partum look to the breasts – even with no history of pregnancy.
The auto-augmentation technique of mastopexy was performed together with liposuction of her armpit fat and bra rolls. An intraoperative image is shown below.
Long-term follow up photos are shown 8 years after surgery with mature scars and a slight increase in her breast volume with a 20-pound increase in her weight after having children. She was able to breastfeed after surgery without difficulty.
Even with age and weight gain, once breasts are reshaped, they will maintain their rounder and lifted but natural appearance for decades to come, due to internal breast tissue rearrangement.
