Before and after liposuction of the body in a 31-year-old woman. She had accumulated excess fat in her midsection after having children. A tummy tuck was offered to her by another surgeon, but she did not want the long scar involved and increased downtime associated with an abdominoplasty. She sought out liposuction alone as her procedure of choice.

Five liters of fat was removed from her upper and lower abdomen, circumferential flanks, lower back rolls, pubic region, buttock roll (called the “banana roll”) and upper inner thighs. After surgery, she wore a postoperative compression garment followed by shapewear under her clothes for three months to encourage the faster reabsorption of surgical swelling – called edema.

Follow up photos are shown 9 months after surgery. The last image shows the actual cannisters of fat that were removed during her surgery. Grateful that she found a surgeon who listened to her wishes, she is enjoying wearing more fitted clothes at work and on date night!
