Before and after MACS lift in a 70-year-old woman. She had been considering a procedure to improve the look of her neck for several years, but did not want to look different or overdone. She was pleased to learn about the MACS lift and that it would eliminate her jowls and improve her neckline contour, but not pull her too tight or make her results overtly obvious to others.
A MACS lift (minimal access = short scar, cranial suspension = lifting the soft tissues of the face, restoring a more lifted and youthful position) improves the jawline but maintains normal texture and tone to the face and neck skin.
When there is sun damage to the skin like, wrinkles and discoloration can still be expected – these can be further improved with intense pulsed light or other laser skin resurfacing therapies. Ongoing sunblock to protect the skin from further sun damage is important as well, together with scar therapy after surgery.
Her surgery took three hours to perform under general anesthesia. She had a friend pick her up afterward and stay overnight with her for two days after surgery. After taking a full month off exercise, she resumed her normal active lifestyle and travel. She looked absolutely fabulous for her child’s wedding!
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery.
