Before and after bilateral breast reduction/breast revision and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 59-year-old woman. When a procedure has been performed before, as in this patient who had a breast reduction twenty years ago, the repeat procedure is called a “secondary breast reduction.”

Her goal was to have a minor reduction and to feel less heavy, especially at the lower pole of her breasts. She wanted to minimize her recovery since she traveled often for work. Her reduction involved only reducing the lower pole of the breast and reshaping her breasts, keeping the upper pole volume and shape intact. Less than a half cup of tissue was removed (around 120 grams per side), which is all she needed! Liposuction removed excess fat from her bra rolls and armpits, in addition to her abdomen, flanks and arms.

Follow up photos are shown 8 months after surgery. She feels wonderful and was so happy that her recovery was so straightforward!
