Before and after bilateral breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 19-year-old woman. She had true macromastia, a condition where enlarged heavy and pendulous breasts cause pain and downward traction on the neck, shoulder and upper back, resulting in pain and loss of function.
A breast reduction removed over 800 grams of tissue (over a pound and a half) from each breast. The remaining breast tissue was rearranged into a more a shapely breast and liposuction removed excess fat from the armpits and bra rolls.
Early follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. The patient moved out of town but stays connected with us through video visits every few years. Fifteen years later, she is doing fantastic, was able to breastfeed her three children without difficulty and is so happy with her decision to have surgery – even before having kids!
