Before and after left non-skin-sparing mastectomy and immediate implant reconstruction in a 47-year-old woman with breast cancer. She had two tumors, one of which was right behind her nipple, so saving the nipple and areola was not an option.
She had always considered a breast augmentation and viewed this surgery as an opportunity to get the breasts she always wanted – her “breast cancer makeover.” A combined Surgical Oncology (Breast Surgeon) and Plastic Surgery procedure was planned, during which her left breast was removed, and an implant was placed on top of the muscle in the prepectoral position, and a left balancing augmentation was performed.
Early follow up photos are shown at 3 months post-op. She will be ready for left nipple-areola reconstruction any time after 6 months. She is incredibly pleased with her results and is thrilled to be horseback riding again – her passion!
