Before and after bilateral breast reduction and lift in a 23-year-old college student. She was home for the summer before moving overseas for a graduate degree. Her breasts were asymmetric, heavy, and caused chronic strain on her neck, shoulders and upper back. She had considered having a breast reduction for years and felt that now was the right time for her.
A breast reduction reduced the size of her breasts and created better symmetry. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpit region. She took a full month off work and exercise and caught up on her reading, knitting and reality T.V.!
Early follow up photos are shown 6 weeks after surgery. Her scars are immature and bright pink, and her areolas are still “asleep”. The nipples will wake up over the next several months, as will her areolas. For now, the nipples and areolas are flat and non-responsive, which is completely normal after surgery. She is ready to begin scar therapy and head overseas for her next adventure!
