Before and after liposuction of the abdomen, bra roll and circumferential flanks (known to some as “lipo 360”) in a 42-year-old woman. After having two children, she accumulated excess stubborn fat in these areas that she could not eliminate through clean eating and regular high-intensity exercise.

She did have some abdominal muscle separation (rectus diastasis), but she had little excess skin, and she did not want a full abdominoplasty. The most appropriate surgical procedure considers our patients’ goals and available downtime – for this active working Mom, liposuction alone was a perfect plan.

Liposuction was done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. After surgery, she wore compression garments around-the-clock for 6 weeks, eventually weaning off compression by 3 months. She started scar therapy at 6 weeks postop and resumed full exercise when she felt ready – this is often when the bruising is all gone (usually 3 to 4 weeks after surgery).

Long-term follow up photos are shown 2 years after surgery. She is extremely pleased and is even more motivated to stay in shape now that her figure reflects her commitment to staying in good shape as a Mom. Her results speak for themselves!
