Before and after bilateral mastopexy and augmentation in a 34 year old woman with significant asymmetry. She had lost a significant amount of weight, causing loss of breast fullness and structure, breast droop and empty stretch marks. Her goal was for her breasts to look like they did before weight loss, and she used her past boudoir photos as her “wish pictures”.
The “plus-minus procedure” was planned – this surgery adds volume to the upper pole of the breast with an implant, and removes excess tissue from the lower pole of her breast via excision of a small amount of skin and fat. The breast lift moved her nipples and areolas up to a higher position on her breast. The vertical scar under the areola scar (stick portion of the lollipop scar) tucked the bottom skin of her breast around the lifted, firmer breast shape.
Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. The implants restored the volume she had lost with weight loss and gave her the look she wanted (full, as if she were wearing a push-up bra, even without a bra on). Liposuction removed a small amount of fat from the armpit region.
Follow up photos are shown just 6 weeks after surgery. She is entering the scar phase as her wounds heal, and is ready to start scar therapy.
