Before and after right breast reconstruction revision with a DIEP flap and left breast lift in a 39 year old breast cancer survivor. She previously had a non-nipple sparing mastectomy, tissue expander and implant reconstruction. She was not satisfied with her results and sought treatment elsewhere (with us!).
Her right implant was removed and skin and fat was transplanted from her lower abdomen as a DIEP flap to replace her missing breast tissue. A left breast lift reshaped her other breast. Six months later, her right nipple was reconstructed using a free nipple graft from the other side and medical tattoo created a new areola circle.
Follow up photos are shown 11 months after surgery. We would now tattoo both areolas rather than just one side for the very best possible symmetry.
