31-year-old woman with left breast cancer who chose to have bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies for BRCA gene-positivity. Immediate single-stage breast implant reconstructions were performed bilaterally. Early postoperative photographs at 8 weeks after surgery show mild rippling of her implants. A mastopexy (breast lift), reduction of her areola diameter and exchange of saline implants for silicone at 3 months after her mastectomies was performed to raise her nipples, lift the skin of the breasts and improve rippling (images not shown). Incisions used for the nipple-sparing mastectomies lie in the natural fold of her breasts.
