Before and after breast reduction and mastopexy (breast lift) in a 68 year old woman. Her breasts were heavy and pendulous, and she wanted to “take a load off” her back. She was worried she was “too old” to have surgery, but she was fit, active and had no medical issues – and she was able to take a full 6 weeks off work for recovery – so she was an appropriate candidate for surgery.
A breast reduction and lift removed some heavy breast tissue from the bottom of her breasts, but kept enough tissue behind to maintain a proportional breast size with the rest of her body. The remaining breast tissue was rearranged in an “auto-augmentation” to reshape the breasts and lift them to sit higher up on the chest.
Liposuction removed fat permanently from the armpits and bra roll. Follow up photos are shown two months after surgery. She has started scar therapy and loves her beautiful perkier and smaller breasts!
