Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 44 year old woman. She had undergone submuscular breast augmentation nearly 20 years previously. After a few years, her implants migrated upwards and stayed up there, particularly on her left side. Being left handed, she hated how her breasts jumped and deformed with muscle flexion.
Breast implants are not supposed to sit so high up on the chest! Her implants sat outside of a normal position on her chest, causing a “Snoopy” deformity or “waterfall deformity”. She knew she wanted to keep implants but wanted a much more natural look.
In an outpatient procedure, her implants were converted from a submuscular position to a subglandular position. The last image shows intraoperative details after the right breast is operated on for comparison with the left.
Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. Her animation deformity was eliminated after putting her pectoralis major muscles back down on the chest wall. She looks much more natural and proportional to her fit body.
