Before and after bilateral breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 25 year old woman. She had not had children yet, but she could not live with her oversized, heavy and pendulous breasts any longer!
A breast reduction removed over 2 pounds of breast tissue and fat from each breast! Her remaining breast tissue was reshaped into a perkier and more round shape. Liposuction removed armpit fat that protruded from her tank tops.
Follow up photos are shown 7 months after surgery. Her scars are maturing and she feels very comfortable in her skin. As is common with pigmented skin, her areolas are slightly lighter than previously. It is common for the melanocytes (pigment producing cells) to become lazy and stop producing normal areola pigment during healing.
Areola pigment should fully recover by 1-2 years. In case the pigment does not completely return, medical tattoo can be performed in the office under local anesthesia, as is done for breast reconstruction surgery.
