Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 59 year old woman. Her previously placed saline breast implants were under the muscle with a significant animation/flexion deformity and unsightly folds and puckers of her lower breast pole skin due to muscle contraction. She reported capsular contracture on the right for years before her right saline implant deflated, creating asymmetry.
Her revision involved removal of the old saline breast implants, replacement of her pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall and reconstruction of her chest muscle anatomy, creation of a subglandular pocket on top of the muscle and insertion of smooth round silicone gel breast implants.
Follow up photos are shown 6 weeks after surgery. Her animation deformity is gone, as shown when she flexes her pec muscles. She looks “just like I did before” with symmetry and a soft, natural looking result – that was her goal!
