Before and after breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 42 year old mother. Her breasts had increased in their size and droopiness after having children. Her babies preferred one breast over the other, causing a significant difference in the size and position of her breasts.
She wanted her breasts to be slightly smaller and lifted, but to stay proportional to her body. A breast reduction was planned as part of her Mommy Makeover, which also included a tummy tuck and liposuction.
A breast reduction removed heavy, unwanted drooping breast tissue from the bottom and sides of her breasts. Her remaining breast tissue was rearranged to a higher position and more shapely form. Liposuction removed stubborn excess fat from the sides of her breasts, effectively decreasing her bra band width by several inches!
Follow up photos are shown two years after surgery. Her breast shape has maintained its perky shape in the long term. Her scars are nearly mature but still slightly pink from increased blood circulation necessary for healing. Many patients’ scars will be fully mature by one year, but healing and scar maturation is genetically determined.
She feels very comfortable in her skin and like most of our breast reduction patients, she asks herself “Why did I wait so long!?”
