Before and after revision breast surgery in a 58 year old breast cancer survivor.  18 years ago, she had a left mastectomy and implant reconstruction.  Her body had changed since that time, resulting in asymmetry between her breasts.

Her right breast, which was previously lifted, was again drooping and she had lost fullness from weight loss.  Her left implant reconstruction sat higher on her chest and was painful due to capsular contracture.  Her past nipple and areola reconstruction had faded and looked unnatural.

A capsulectomy on the left side removed constricting scar tissue from around her old implant.  Her left saline implant was exchanged for a smooth round silicone gel implant, which was relocated lower on her chest to match the right side.  A redo mastopexy and augmentation on the right added back volume and created better symmetry with her reconstructed breast.

Her left nipple was reconstructed by the “nipple sharing” technique, where a piece of the right nipple was moved to the left side as a free nipple graft.  Medical tattoo of both areolas completed the procedure and created a more natural look to both of her nipples and areolas.

Follow up photos are shown nine months after surgery.  We are all of the mindset that this should be her last and final breast surgery.  She looks great!
