Before and after left nipple and areola reconstruction in a 58 year old breast cancer survivor.  18 years ago, she had a left mastectomy and implant reconstruction with nipple and areola reconstruction that was flat and had faded.

Her left nipple was reconstructed by “nipple sharing” technique, where a piece from the bottom of the right nipple was moved to the left side as a free nipple graft.  Sensation is maintained to the rest of the “donor nipple”, and each nipple ends up being 50% smaller than the donor nipple’s original size.

Medical tattoo of both areolas completed the procedure and created a more natural look to both of her nipples and areolas.  Follow up photos are shown three months after nipple and areola reconstruction.  The tattoo is still bright and will gradually fade to a more natural color intensity.
