Before and after bilateral explantation of previously placed silicone gel breast implants in a 32 year old woman. Her original augmentation was several years before in another state.
Her implants were significantly “bottomed out”, with her nipple and areola sitting too high on her breasts (due to the implant being positioned too low on her chest at the original surgery). She always felt too big for her frame and she was “over them”!
Her breast implants were removed in a simple outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia in the office. Her prior scars under the breasts were used to remove the large silicone implants.
Follow up photos are shown at 3 months after explantation. She resumed exercise at 10 days postoperatively and took pain medication for less than 24 hours afterward. She feels “like myself” and is happy with her decision to be “au naturel”.
