Before and after bilateral breast implant removal in a 47-year-old woman. She had chronically contracted scar tissue around her high-riding submuscular implants that felt tight and had superior malposition and animation deformities.
After considering explantation for years but feeling hesitant to have another big surgical procedure, she sought us out because we offer breast implant removal awake, under local anesthesia.
Explantation was performed after injecting numbing medication in the area of the scar under her breasts. She was also prescribed an oral anti-anxiety medication and offered inhaled laughing gas.
Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She feels she “never needed them in the first place” (her implants). She feels appreciative to have her “old breasts back,” to look natural in clothing and to not need to “hide them” any longer.
