Before and after bilateral “secondary” (redo) breast reduction with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 48-year-old woman with a history of a past breast reduction over twenty years ago. She wanted her breasts to be lighter and smaller, since she had gained weight since her twenties and accumulated additional heaviness of her breasts.
A redo breast reduction, also called a secondary breast reduction, removed additional breast tissue and fat, reshaping her breasts to be rounder and higher up on her chest. Liposuction removed excess fat from her bra rolls and armpits.
Follow up photos are shown 9 months after surgery. It is rare that breast reductions need to be redone down the road – most cases are situations just like hers – where weight gain results in fat being deposited in the breasts, increasing breast size.
