Before and after bilateral breast reconstruction revision in a 52-year-old breast cancer survivor. Following her initial breast reconstruction, she developed painful Grade IV capsular contracture and asymmetry.
Her revision involved removal of the old breast implants, capsulectomy to open up the prepectoral mastectomy space and implant exchange to new silicone gel breast implants. Her right nipple was reconstructed using the “nipple sharing” free graft technique, and medical tattoo created an areolar circle on the right.
Follow up photos are shown 3 years after surgery, with a stable result. Her medical tattoos have faded slightly and can be touched up by a paramedical tattoo artist any time in the future.
