Before and after right breast reconstruction by “local tissue rearrangement” (breast lift or mastopexy) and left balancing breast reduction in a 64-year-old breast cancer survivor. After her right lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, her breasts developed significant asymmetry. She found wearing bras impossible without having them fall to the left due to significant size discrepancy.
Her breast reconstruction involved lifting the right radiated breast and a breast reduction and lift on the left. Liposuction removed excess fat from her bra rolls and armpit regions (known as the axillary rolls).
Follow up photos are shown 10 months after surgery. Note that the right breast still is swollen and stiff, which is expected for 1-2 years or longer after surgery due to past radiation. She has greatly improved symmetry and she even feels comfortable not wearing a bra!
