Before and after bilateral explantation and breast lift in a 55-year-old woman who had breast implants inserted over 25 years ago. Her implants no longer reflected her current active lifestyle. Her breast goal was to be smaller and lifted – she was an excellent candidate for breast implant removal and mastopexy.
Her implants were removed through a new incision in the fold of her breasts. The internal breast tissue was rearranged and lifted, creating a new lollipop scar as well. Her areola diameter was reduced and the excess skin in the lower pole of her breast was tucked inward to make a tighter and rounder lower pole to her breasts.
Follow up photos are shown a year after surgery. Her scars have faded and are almost mature, evidenced by the light pink color of her incisions. She appreciates her smaller, more athletic looking breasts that are a good fit for her active lifestyle.
