Before and after breast reconstruction revision in a 52 year old breast cancer survivor. Her past reconstructions had included failed implants and eventual DIEP flaps.
At this point in her reconstruction journey, she was lacking nipples and areolas and had left-sided bottoming-out of a heavy DIEP flap from loss of her natural inframammary fold (the attachment of the bottom of the breast to the chest wall) during her original mastectomy.
Her final revision procedure included reconstruction of her left inframammary fold, liposuction of her bra rolls, fat grafting to the superior pole of her breast reconstructions, nipple reconstructions using the local flap technique and areola tattoo.
Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery.
