Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 32 year old woman. Her past surgeon had not addressed her breast droop, and the incision around the bottom of the areola had contracted, further pulling her nipples downwards. Her implants were soft and not creating a problem, so these were left alone.
Her breast revision involved an in-office mastopexy (breast lift) procedure. The goal was to lift her nipples up to a more normal and youthful position on her breast and to reshape her breasts without going to the operating room or removing and replacing her breast implants.
This procedure can be performed in the office under local anesthesia since it only involves skin. The implant pocket was not entered, and no drains were required. Skin was removed from around the nipple and areola and below the nipple. Her nipples were lifted and the bottom skin of her breasts tucked to create a lollipop incision, which is standard for a breast lift.
The last two images show the surgical markings for her in-office mastopexy and the scary appearance at 5 days postoperatively (“Frankenboobs”). It took two weeks for her bruising to completely resolve. Long term follow up images are shown at two years postoperatively.
