Before and after breast revision in a 64 year old breast cancer survivor. Over 20 years ago, she had a bilateral mastectomy and implant reconstruction. She developed capsular contracture that was causing pain and deformity – both indications to perform a breast revision.
Her old implants were removed, scar tissue was removed from the implants (called a capsulectomy), and the newest silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the pre-pectoral positon. Liposuction of the axillary rolls and the back fat/bra roll complimented this procedure.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery. Her pain and deformity is gone, and she can get on with her life, without a constant reminder of her past breast cancer.
