Before and after bilateral breast augmentation and a right lift in a 33 year old mother. She had breast fed her five children, who all seemed to prefer her right breast. This breast was consequently more deflated and droopy than the left.
Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle in the subglandular position. This technique provides the most natural look and avoids the flexion/motion deformity that occurs when the pectoralis major muscle flexes and animates.
A breast lift raised the right nipple and areola to match the position of the left side and tucked the bottom breast skin to correct its sagginess and droopy lower pole. Liposuction of the axillary rolls completed her procedure to allow her to wear tank tops without being self-conscious of her armpit fat.
Very early follow up photos are shown just three weeks after surgery. She already has great symmetry and minimal swelling. She took pain medication for a day or two only after surgery. She loves her breasts already and feels much more proportional and symmetrical.
She is about ready to begin scar therapy, which involves using a topical scar gel on her incisions and gentle massage of the scars as the body begins to deposit collagen. Scar therapy will continue for 3-9 months until the scars are as faded, soft and pliable as other mature scars on her body.
