Before and after bilateral explantation in a 56-year-old woman who had several prior implant surgeries and several complications including capsular contracture and asymmetry. She was "so over” her implants and just wanted them out.
Breast implant removal was performed in the office under local anesthesia. After surgery, she took two weeks off exercise and avoided major travel for a month.
Follow up photos are shown 1 month after surgery. Her breast skin is still contracting, as is the lower part of her areola. In some cases, it takes several months to appreciate the final explantation results.
She is very satisfied with her decision to have her breast implants removed, and especially that it was such a straightforward outpatient procedure that did not required general anesthesia!
