Before and after bilateral breast implant removal in a 54-year-old woman. Her implants had been in place for 15 years, and she felt they made her look top-heavy or matronly. They no longer reflected her athletic, healthy lifestyle. She also had developed capsular contracture, most obvious when the arms are raised above the head.
Bilateral explantation was performed in the office under local anesthesia. After surgery, she worked from home for a week and took two weeks off exercise.
She was initially concerned about a “divot” in her right breast upper pole, but was pleased to see that time really took care of any unusual features, and that her breasts assumed their natural preoperative state.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery. She looks natural, lighter and fantastic!
