Before and after bilateral breast revision consisting of removal of breast implants, a breast lift and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 63-year-old woman with implants that had been in place for 20 years. She had gone through menopause and now felt “top-heavy” and “matronly.” She wanted her breasts to be perky but look natural.
An explantation (breast implant removal) and mastopexy was performed under local anesthesia with an oral anti-anxiety medication and laughing gas. A small amount of armpit fat was removed at the same time with liposuction. After surgery, she took three weeks off work and a full month off exercise.
Follow up photos are shown 9 weeks after surgery. She has begun scar therapy and is back exercising. Even though it is early after surgery, she loves her results already!
