Before and after bilateral explantation in a 26-year-old woman with contracted, oversized breast implants and scoliosis. Note how her right shoulder sits up higher than her left, and how her left ribs project more than the right, leading to an apparent increased size in her left breast.
She had not had her implants in for longer than a few years, but she was already “over them.” She wanted to go back to her preoperative state. She was relieved to learn that her breast skin would not be all stretched out after implant removal.
Her breast implants were removed under local anesthesia, using the same incision under her breasts that was used to perform the breast augmentation. After surgery, she showered in two days and resumed exercise in two weeks. Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery.
