Before and after explantation and redo mastopexy (breast lift) in a 63 year old woman. She had old breast implants in place that were contracted with hardening and discomfort. She wanted her implants out and to maintain a natural look.
Her breast implants were removed and her remaining breast tissue reshaped to achieve the same overall look. Liposuction of her axillary rolls helped to remove stubborn fat in this area of her chest.
Early follow up photos are shown at 7 weeks after surgery. She is much more comfortable in her skin now!
Her scars are starting to mature and her back fat/bra roll is still very firm and swollen. This is known as postoperative “edema” (engorgement of tissue with firm swelling) that will take several more months to resolve.
