Before and after bilateral nipple reduction in a 34-year-old woman. She had always been self-conscious about the size and protuberance of her nipples, feeling the need to always wear thick padding in her bra, and was looking for a solution to her concerns.

A nipple reduction was performed in the office operating room under local anesthesia. A portion of her nipple was removed surgically, and the remaining nipple was reconstructed. The last slide shows the nipple tissue removed during her procedure. Dissolving sutures were used to purse-string closed the nipple surface, allowing connections to remain from her milk ducts below to the surface of the nipple.

Follow up photos are shown 7 weeks after surgery. She is elated with her results, and feels totally comfortable wearing just a light bralette now - or no bra - without feeling self-conscious. Her sensation has recurred, and she is relieved to know that future breastfeeding is still possible.
