Before and after breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 51-year-old woman. Her breasts had always been full and round, but after having children they sagged and became progressively heavier, causing pain and strain on her neck, shoulders, and upper back.
A breast reduction removed breast tissue from the bottom and sides of her breasts, reshaping the breast into a more perky and round form. Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls, known as the axillary rolls.
Follow up photos are shown 8 months after surgery. Her scars are continuing to mature, becoming flatter, less red and less raised. The entire process of scar maturation can take 1-2 years in some patients, especially teenagers. She loves her new breasts and especially enjoys wearing minimally supportive bralettes – or now bra at all!
